Description

I'm killing two birds with one stone here.
This is my first assignment for my Digital class from #TheArtAcademy, i'm Heather of the Corvidae clan.

This is actually a piece i started months ago, so i finished it up for the assignment.

I loved it when i started this picture, but after months and months of coloring, i was just relieved to get it finished ^^;
But i'm happy with how it turned out. I love drawing lolita dresses. <3

First time using a texture! c:
I used Gimp and a wacom tablet, and i used lot's of layers, but flattened it in the end.

Used ~Insan-Stock's stock texture.

The design in this is super precious. The little ribbons and the little pocket, it’s just adorable. Well done on that! There are only a few minor problems that I would suggest working on in the future. As far as anatomy goes, it’s pretty good. I can understand the exaggerated legs and arms. The shoulders are lined up and in proportion. It looks very nice! The biggest problem I have with the anatomy is the feet. They are horribly small in comparison to either the legs or the rest of the body. And they two are different sizes. So I would make them a bit bigger, so they fit into the Lolita feel of the picture, and the same size.

But the colors look amazing. The purple hair with the royal blue trim on the dress looks lovely. As far as the shading goes, it looks quite nice. Just be careful on things like striped. Unless the stripes are raised up in the fabric, they wouldn’t each have their own curve of a shadow. They would follow the shadow created by the leg as if there weren’t any stripes in the first place. Make sense?

As a whole piece, it looks amazing. So keep it up!!! (:
